320 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been stolen from a hospital in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

In a shocking incident, 320 doses of COVID-19 vaccine was stolen from Kanwatia Hospital in Shastri Nagar area of Jaipur, rajasthan.

The FIR was lodged in the case after the hospital staff failed to locate the vaccine. The case has been registered under Section 380 (Whoever commits theft in any building, tent or vessel) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

“We were shocked to see that 320 vaccine doses have gone missing from the hospital,” said the hospital official.

Last week, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot raised a hue and cry over vaccine shortage in the state and said Rajasthan has insufficient stocks to carry on with the vaccination drive.

He also said that the Centre’s claim of no shortage of Covid-19 vaccines in the country is wrong and demanded that a status report on the availability of doses be made public.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan has become the second state after Maharashtra to administer more than 10 million doses of the vaccine.
