Mamata Banerjee loses in Nandigram to Suvendu Adhikari

West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee lost the Nandigram seat to BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari in a neck and neck fight.

She said about her loss, “I will move court if necessary because I suspect certain malpractice have taken place.”

Earlier Mamata Banerjee was declared winner from Nandigram but later it was announced that she had lost to Adhikari.

“Don’t worry about Nandigram, I struggled for Nandigram because I fought a movement. It’s ok. Let the Nandigram people give whatever verdict they want, I accept that. I don’t mind. We won more than 221 seats & BJP has lost the election,” Banerjee said.

“We are grateful to the people for this landslide victory. I have to start working for COVID19 immediately. The swearing-in will be a low-key event because of the prevailing COVID19 situation: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, she added.

Suvendu Adhikari thanked people of nandigram and said, “My sincere thanks to the great People of Nandigram for their love, trust, blessings, and support, and for choosing me as their representative and the MLA from #Nandigram. It is my never-ending commitment to be of service to them and working for their welfare. I am truly grateful!”
