जैसे ही कॉमेडियन वीर दास ने वाशिंगटन डीसी में जॉन एफ कैनेडी सेंटर फॉर द परफॉर्मिंग आर्ट्स में भारत के खिलाफ अपने अनहोनी का एक यूट्यूब वीडियो साझा किया, के खिलाफ मुंबई पुलिस में एक शिकायत दर्ज कर दी गई है। अधिवक्ता आशुतोष जे दुबे, बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट में एक कानूनी वकील और भाजपा-महाराष्ट्र के कानूनी सलाहकार ने अपने ट्विटर अकाउंट के माध्यम से कॉमेडियन के खिलाफ दायर शिकायत की एक प्रति साझा की।

अभिनेता-कॉमेडियन वीर दास के खिलाफ तिलक मार्ग पुलिस स्टेशन में भी उस वायरल वीडियो के संबंध में शिकायत दर्ज की गई है जिसमें वह अमेरिका में एक कार्यक्रम के दौरान भारत के खिलाफ कथित रूप से अपमानजनक भाषा का इस्तेमाल कर रहे हैं।
